Trishla City has become the first self-sufficient housing society to generate income of its own for its maintenance.
20 sandalwood saplings were planted by Mr. Harish Gupta (Managing Director of Trishla City, Zirakpur) along with society residents at Trishla City on the date of 18.July.2022.
Mr. Harish Gupta is cheerful about the one sandalwood tree that was planted last year in July as an experiment that successfully stands as tall as 4 sq. ft. today.
Mr. Gupta has quite insightfully shared the unique advantage of a sandalwood tree. Sharing his knowledge, he says that after a span of ten years, the wood of a sandalwood tree can be sold at Rs. 10 lakhs each, which means that Trishla City can earn Rs. 2 crore by the sale of these 20 trees. This sale can prove to be highly profitable for monetizing Trishla City’s assets in residents’ benefit further making society’s RWA economically self-dependent.

He declared that every year he shall plant 20 sandalwood trees for the next 10 years. He also has a land reserve in place to execute this plan of planting 200 trees of sandalwood in Trishla City itself alongside its famous selection of twenty thousand plants & trees in the society, making Trishla City the greenest society of the region.
Mr. Manjit Singh (General Secretary) of Trishla City Residents Welfare Association (TCRWA) said this income generation will be of great help to the residents of society for maintaining and upgrading society’s equipment & gadgets like lifts, gensets, motors etc. without any burden on the pockets of flat owners for years to come.
